Varsity Indoor Track Sweeps Big North American Indoor Track Titles!

Big North Conference LogoCongratulations to the Fort Lee Boys and Girls Indoor Track teams for winning the Big North League Championship in the American Division. This was the third consecutive indoor title for the boys and second for the girls, the second Big North American sweep for Fort Lee.

The night's standouts for the Bridgemen were Emanuel Montoya and Kendall Caballero. For the boys, Emanuel scored 25 points alone with 1st place performances in the 55m Hurdles, Long Jump, and High Jump, as well as a 5th place in the triple jump. Kendall earned 26 points with 1st place finishes in the 55m Dash, 200m Dash, 4x400m relay, as well as a 4th place finish in the Long Jump.

Behind these performances, the boys got help in almost every event. Junior Christion Anigilaje took 1st place in the 1600m run and 2nd in the 3200. Jacob Im, Avant Kothari, and El Taylor took 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the 400m dash. Noah Cho, Milan Sutovic, and, Aaron Kim earned 4th place finishes in the long jump, shot put, and 55m dash respectively. The girls team followed suit. The girl's 4x400 relay finished 1st. Kaiya Ho, Joanne Samuel-Olagunju, and Catie Lee swept the 400m dash. Allison Leung won the 800m run. Mia Granik and Nicole Cabrera scored points in the horizontal jumps and long distance runs respectively. Both the boys and girls 4x800 meter relay came in 1st Place.

Overall, it was a true testament to a genuine team performance. Every athlete on both the boys and girls teams contributed to a special evening of bringing two league titles back to Fort Lee.
