Dear Fort Lee Families,

As of Friday, December 4, the northeast region of New Jersey remains in the high level on the COVID-19 Activity Level Index  (CALI)  report.

Fort Lee High School will remain on full remote status and return to the hybrid instruction model on Monday, December 14.

Lewis F. Cole Middle School and Lewis F. Cole Intermediate School will remain on full remote status and return to the hybrid model of instruction on Monday, December 21.

The Fort Lee Elementary Schools (#1, #2, #3, #4) will remain in the hybrid model of instruction.

This information is subject to change dependent on information received from the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), Fort Lee Health Department and the Department of Education (NJDOE).

The Fort Lee Public School district is in regular communication with the Fort Lee Health Department regarding any/all cases of Covid -19 connected to the school’s students and staff.

If the COVID-19 Activity Level Index  (CALI) increases to the Very High (red) level, all school districts are to transition to 100% remote instruction for all students. If this level is reached, all Fort Lee Schools will switch to all remote instruction for all students. If Fort Lee Schools are required to switch to 100% remote instruction for all students, you will receive a separate communication from my office. If the change is necessary, you will receive more specific information regarding the instruction model will be provided by the school administration.

If you or your children are experiencing COVID related symptoms, it is recommended that you contact your healthcare provider and arrange for testing.

I encourage you to adhere to public health guidelines to help mitigate the spread of the virus and reduce the  activity level. Please continue to wear masks and social distance.

I hope that you and your family enjoy a healthy and safe holiday season.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Rota
Superintendent of Schools
