Hello Fort Lee Families,

I am pleased to announce that the district will be opening earlier than anticipated for families opting for in- person instruction for all students attending  Lewis F. Cole Intermediate School in grades 5 & 6 only.

The Intermediate School will transition from fully remote to the hybrid model of instruction on Monday, October 5. Information regarding the Hybrid model of instruction is included in the District’s Reopening Plan and the Frequently Asked Questions document on the school website.

You will be receiving detailed information regarding drop off/pick up procedures and other topics from Mrs. Ruesga, the school Principal, in writing and during Back To School Night.

Aftercare will be available through “Club Ed”. Please contact them directly through the information on the district’s  website. (clubed@jfcsnnj.org or 201-837-9090 Ext. 240).

District staff continue to make every effort possible to open Lewis F. Cole Middle School and Fort Lee High School for in- person instruction when possible.

Thank you to all the parents who completed and submitted the survey question sent last week. This information is very helpful for planning in the buildings. The survey is still open for those who did not submit it yet.

As always, if you have questions regarding your child’s class activities or schedule, please contact the teacher or the school Principal. You can also contact your school Principal for technology assistance and support as well.

Recruiting and hiring the most qualified staff members continues to remain a top priority during this challenging time. Our district administrators are working expeditiously to put the best teachers and other staff members in front of our students to address staffing needs.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Anyone who is on school property is required to wear an appropriate face covering. Visitors will not be permitted to enter the school buildings unless approved by the building Principal.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience as we continue to work through this “new” September.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Rota

Superintendent of Schools
