Hello Fort Lee Families,

I hope that you were able to enjoy the long weekend and the beautiful weather. Tuesday, September 8, will begin the school year after your orientation and welcome last week. This year will be a new experience for all students, staff and families involved. We will all be learning  together as we progress through the school year  and as we encounter and master new challenges.

The district is continuing to move forward toward the goal of returning to in person instruction. The district is still receiving the needed safety supplies (for distribution in our schools)to prepare the schools . Those supplies are being distributed in the schools. Each of the schools has a supply of reusable cloth masks for all students and staff, along with a supply  of disposable masks to use as needed. All classrooms are being re-cleaned and sanitized while being set up for in person instruction. Each classroom will be (equipped with) have hand sanitizer, wipes and disinfecting cleaner. District administrators are working  to address any staffing concerns within the district.

A few reminders:

  • If you have questions regarding your child’s class/activities, please contact the teacher or the school Principal directly.
  •  You will be receiving a new survey from the district regarding your decision for your children to continue with total remote instruction or return to in person instruction when that is available.
  •  You can contact your school Principal if you need technology assistance and support.
  •  Don’t forget, there is still time to complete and submit your Census information.

All of the district’s decisions regarding instruction will be (guided by updates) determined with guidance from our local, county and state health officials.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Rota
Superintendent of Schools
