Intermediate & Middle School Subscription Busing
Boards of Education are not required by law to provide busing for students who live less than two (2) miles from school even for safety reasons (NJ 18A:39-1). However, Boards are permitted, at their own discretion, to provide transportation for students who reside less than two (2) miles from school and may charge the student’s parents or legal guardians for this service. This transportation service is called Subscription Busing.

Fort Lee Public Schools will be offering subscription busing for the 2020-2021 school year to all students who live two (2) miles or less from Lewis F. Cole Middle School/ Fort Lee Intermediate School. 

Students who live farther than two (2) miles from the Lewis F. Cole Middle School/Fort Lee Intermediate School are eligible for busing at no cost to the parent.  

The total amount due is $1,100. The first payment of $550.00 is due by August 3rd, 2020. The second payment of $550.00 is due by February 2nd, 2021. The first day of ridership for 5th thru 8th graders who are awarded seats at the June 18th lottery will be Thursday, September 3rd, 2020.

Students who qualify for 2020-2021 free or reduced-priced meals are awarded a subscription busing seat through the lottery are eligible to participate at no cost or at 25% of the cost.
